Daniel Meader, son of Nicholas Meader (c. 1683-1767) [0007] and Lydia ( – ), was born in Durham, NH November 6, 1718. He married Mary Meserve [or Harvey], daughter of Daniel and Deborah Meserve, on February 22, 1743. She was baptized January 8, 1720.
The Meserve or Messervey family flourished on the Isle of Jersey, especially in the Parish, of St. Martin [ed: may be confused, I find a St. Martin’s on Guernsey, none on Jersey], as early as the beginning of the fourteenth century. [According to one source, Meserve or Messervey, when pronounced with the French intonation, "Mesarvey," changed to Harvey.]
The young couple settled at Dover Neck, NH. He is recorded as living in Madbury in 1758 [History of Durham, I, 28].
